CBSE Class XII results announced

THE SUSPENSE is finally over. The result of senior secondary exam conducted by Central Bureau of Secondary Education is out. The board has announced the result for XII for the Chennai, Ajmer and Panchkula regions only, rest of the result will be announced on Friday (May 22). Schools can access the result by registering at the CBSE websites: Results.nic.in, Cbseresults.nic.in and Cbse.nic.in. The board is also offering result information through the interactive voice response system.

Regional officer of CBSE, N Nagaraju, revealed to media that this year as many as 55,224 students have taken the exam from the Chennai region, which includes Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Pondicherry and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

But as a good sign, they say, the students of class XII in the city seem ready for the result and not many of them are stressed.

Anita Sharma, a CBSE counselor, said, “Most students only asked me about when the result will be out or what are the different courses available. As compared to last year, the students seem more aware of career opportunities and there are few stress-related calls now.’” Meanwhile, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations has also declared results of the Indian School Certificate (ISC) Class XII and the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Class X examinations today.

Students, already registered with the board’s website will receive their results through e-mail or SMSes.

The Bihar School Education Board has been announced the results for the class 10th on 16:00 hours on May 20. The result has been declared by BSEB Chairman A.K.P Yadav.

The result is available on the board website biharboard.bih.nic.in. A total 9 lakh candidates have appeared in the examination. The results zones have been divided in 9 parimandals for better management.

AIEEE Cut off 2009

n 26th April over 10 Lacs students appeared for AIEEE 2009 Paper, which was held all across the country. There was a major change in the pattern of the paper, which surprised many students and according to them this year Math Question paper was the toughest. This year No. of questions also decreased from 35 to 30 per section as compared to 2008.

Total Questions: 90
(Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry 30 – Questions Each)
There were 24 questions of 4 marks each and 6 questions of 8 mark each. The 8 mark questions had -2 marks for incorrect answer while the 4 mark questions had -1.

About AIIMS

An act of Parliament in 1956 established the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) as an autonomous institution of national importance and defined its objectives and functions. Arguably the country’s best medical institute, AIIMS is an autonomous institution that awards its own medical degrees. All India Institute of Medical Sciences was established as an institution of national importance with the objective to demonstrate a high standard of medical education in India; to bring together in one place educational facilities of the highest order for the training of personnel in all important branches of health activity; and to attain self-sufficiency in post-graduate medical education.

Who can take AIIMS?

About MAT

The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) aims at evaluating logical thinking – the key skill required to handle management positions. It assesses candidates for management and supervisory positions, and attempts to recognise weak areas and training needs.

MAT has been approved as a National Entrance Test for admission to MBA and equivalent programmes by the Government of India. Candidates seeking admissions to the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology & Management (PGDITM) and equivalent programmes offered by All India Management Association - Centre for Management Education (AIMA-CME) or other Management Institutes (MI) are required to clear the MAT.

Who conducts the test?

Centre for Management Services (CMS) is the specialized division of AIMA undertaking testing and other management services. The testing services have been in operation since 1988 under the trademark All India Management Aptitude Testing Services (AIMATS) facilitating academia, industry and government to screen and select candidates for higher studies, recruitment, promotion etc. Hundreds of organizations and lakhs of candidates have availed these services. When is the MAT held?

MAT is a 150-minute test that assesses linguistic skills, mathematics, data analysis and sufficiency, intelligence and reasoning along with Indian and global environment through 200 questions.

XLRI-MBA Admission Test

About XLRI - XAT

XAT is an all-India admission test to select the most suitable students for the academic programmes of XLRI Jamshedpur – School of Business & Human Resources. Although the test is conducted by XLRI for admission to its courses, the test is now accepted by almost 35 other management institutes.

Who conducts the test?

For over the past 50 years, XLRI – School of Business & Human Resources has been conducting XAT exams.

Who can take XAT?

A bachelors degree under 10+2+3 system recognised by a university or a deemed university is the eligibility criteria.

How to apply? / Fees

1. Candidate interested in XLRI, has to first register for XAT. The XAT ID and password so obtained are required for applying to XLRI.

2. A Candidate intending to apply for any one of the programmes can obtain XLRI Prospectus from select branches of State Bank of India on payment of Rs. 800/-.

3. A candidate can apply for more than one programme, but not more than three programmes. If he/she intends to apply for more than one programme he/she needs to pay an additional amount of Rs. 500/- (total Rs. 1300/-) towards XLRI Prospectus. A candidate who has already purchased XLRI Prospectus from SBI for Rs. 800/- is not entitled to send a DD for Rs. 500/- for opting more than one programme.

4. Once the candidate provides the bank detail he/she can proceed to take the printout of XLRI Payment Advise Form (XLRI PA Form). The candidate has to enclose the third copy of bank/XLRI pay-in-slip along with the duly completed XLRI PA Form and use only the special envelop provided with the XLRI Prospectus and send it by registered post /speed post/courier within a week of obtaining the XLRI Prospectus. The last date for receiving the XLRI PA Form at the Admissions Office, XLRI Jamshedpur is December 05, 2007.

5. The list of the short listed candidates for XLRI will be posted in the same website by January 31, 2008. The names of the candidates who subsequently succeed in the selection interviews and/or group discussions for admission to XLRI will be intimated individually and also will be posted at www.xlri.ac.in and www.xlri.edu.

Centres for XAT

There are 31 cities in which XAT exams are conducted. In Metros and large cities, there will be multiple test centre.

Getting the prospectus from the admission office

1. A candidate interested in XLRI, has to first register for XAT. The XAT ID and password so obtained are required for applying to XLRI.

2. An applicant intending to apply for one of the programmes has to make a demand draft for Rs. 850 for XLRI prospectus.

3. A candidate can apply for more than one programme, but not more than three programmes. If he/she intends to apply for more than one programme, he/she needs to pay an amount of Rs. 1350 (additional Rs. 500) towards XLRI prospectus.

4. The DD has to be drawn in favour of XLRI, Jamshedpur payable at SBI, XLRI Branch (Branch Code 4660).

5. Once the candidate provides the demand draft details he/she can proceed to take printout of XLRI Payment Advise Form (XLRI PAForm).

6. The candidate has to enclose the demand draft along with the duly completed XLRI PAForm and send it by registered post /speed post /courier so as to reach XLRI Admission Office, XLRI Jamshedpur.

7. XLRI prospectus will be sent after receiving the request complete in all respects.

How is XAT structured?

XAT is usually a two-and-a-half hour exam. It is pre-dominantly a multiple choice paper (two hours) that includes an essay writing (20 minutes) as well.

Candidates clearing the test have to appear for a group discussion and/or an interview.
